The networking permits TCP/IP connections on the usual port (1433) and I can log in fine using SQL manager. Stepping through the code indicates a succesfull login, but a COM failure when calling the native method GetDatabases. Project Description
The SQL Server Web Query application allows you to run queries on any SQL Server database from anywhere via the web. You can also save queries for later use, or recall stored procedures in the database to run. There are also some very basic intellisense-like tools in the application to make writing queries fast and easy, automatically retrieving table and column names in the database, and completing T-SQL and ODBC statements for you.
Whether you’re at home, at work, or on the go with a laptop or internet-capable cell phone, SQL Server Web Query makes it quick and easy to build and execute queries on a remote SQL Server database.
System Requirements

Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 4; Windows Server 2003; Windows XP, Windows VISTA

SQL Web Query requires:

Create an IIS website (either a website or "Application" on an existing site). If you are installing this on Windows XP or VISTA you will only be able to create an “Application”.

Enter a description for your new site. This screen will not be presented if you are installing on Windows XP or VISTA.

Enter the full path and name of the "SqlWebQuery" directory created from the download as the website home directory.

Make sure that the Application Pool's user has Read and Execute access to the directory.

Click "Finish" button.

Make sure the .NET 2.0 is the current ASP.NET runtime. In IIS console, right click the website just created, choose "Properties" option.

Run the website.

Browse the list of the files under the website, right click "default.aspx", and click "browse". That will start the web application.
